Mothering Sunday: Mother poem / image

Mothering Sunday: Mother
A simple posy of daffodils
Fragile beauty, tied up in string
Resilient strength against all odds
Simple tradition alongside complex evolution
Nothing special
Something special
Mother.
Nothing special
Something special
Fragile beauty of imperfect love, bound in duty,
tied up in hope, wearied by expectation
Resilient strength, through sleepless nights, illness, weaning
Feeding, teaching, learning, yearning.
Simple instinct with complex personal processing
A humbling honour yet a terrifying responsibility
Simple in essence, yet undeniably life-changing.
The hope and blessing in a simple posy
The hope of blessing in and of a mother’s love.
Nothing special?
Every Thing Special.
